Hackathon | DjangoCon US 2025

Are you a beginner eager to dive into Django development? Or a seasoned pro ready to take on new challenges? No matter your skill level, this event is for you!

We're thrilled to announce the second edition of the DjangoCon US Hackathon, happening this year. This is your chance to learn new skills, collaborate with friendly Django developers, and showcase your creativity.

Join us for a week of coding, learning, and fun. Let's build something extraordinary together!

What to expect:

Slack group: All accepted hackathon participants will be added to the hackathon Slack channel in the DjangoCon US Attendee Slack workspace for easier communication
Hackathon launch: The hackathon will officially begin on September 8th, 2025 with the announcement of the project criteria. Participants will work on the project throughout the week and will present on their project September 11th, 2025.
Who can participate: Anyone with a in person or online ticket to the conference is eligible to join.
How big is the project: The project can be as big or small as you would like. It does not need to be complete to present. We are excited to celebrate whatever you have taken the time to work on!
If I sign up am I required to participate: Nope! Once you sign up, we will get in contact with you and add you to the slack channel. At no point are you locked in to continue the hackathon.
Individual or Group Projects: Work solo or team up to create something amazing
Expert Mentors: Our fantastic mentors will be there to guide you every step of the way
Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow developers and expand your professional network
Swag: There will be swag for each participant
